At the north end of the Imperial Valley lies the Salton Sea and at the north end of the Salton Sea were groves of Date Palms...

...at one of the Date Palm groves there was a gift shop with a Date sampling area... ...there were a dozen or so sample dishes of Dates prepped in various ways... ...my amiable traveling companion tried most if not all of them... ...he pronounced them goooood!
